Everyday Eco-Habit #3: Let's Go Litter-LESS!
Because litter seems especially prevalent at the end of summer from so many of us spending time in the great outdoors, September’s Everyday Eco-Habit is going “Litter-Less."  We will be picking up litter with the whole world on September 15th for World, National and Coastal Cleanup Day.  The rest of the month, join me in the Everyday Eco-Habit of disposing of your own litter properly and picking up just three pieces of litter every day. Simple, right?  Will these little acts make a big environmental impact?  Most definitely.

Everyday Eco-Habits Joins
Manhattan Beach Environmental Town Hall
I am honored to have been on the Expert Community Panel for the Mayor of Manhattan Beach’s "Keep It Green" Town Hall.  I was asked about the most pressing issue I am working on (climate change!); something I do in my everyday life that residents could do as well (ride my bike); and what I am most hopeful about (our youth!).  I encouraged residents to take on just 1 Eco-Habit, then layer on with another, then another, etc.  I am so proud to be part of such a progressive and thoughtful City trying to do its part to be protective of the environment.

And the Winner of our Going Bag-LESS Giveaway is . . .
Congratulations to My Green Friend, Tiffany Friedman, the winner of my giveaway with Love Reusable Bags.  Thank you Tiffany for sharing with everyone how you are making the effort to protect our earth by going Bag-LESS!

WONDERING WHAT ELSE YOU CAN DO TO HELP REDUCE WASTE BY GOING BAG-LESS?

You can start by taking this pledge to go plastic free. Other simple tips include asking the manager of your favorite store to switch to a “bags on request” policy.  You can also talk to your local government to see if your area is plastic bag free.  Check out my post on this subject here for more info.

Make sure to pass along info about going Bag-LESS to your family and friends. You may even want to consider giving them a few reusable bags to get them started.  Need a few bags to pass out?  Check out my favorite reusable bags by clicking the Go Bag-LESS box below.
