Dear Prayer Partners,
I hope this email finds you well and living in the light of Jesus Christ! As we move closer to our services starting on September 16, DeepWater will need your prayers to strengthen us for the work ahead. We are not merely planting a new church and having our first worship service, but we are bringing more of God's light to our Island and beyond. What God is doing in and through us is for his Glory and as the scripture stated above, we are in a struggle.
Below are listed a handful of pressing requests - please pray and join with us in this spiritual battle.
1. Pray for me (Paul) as I take a day away with God this Thursday (Aug. 30). I will be taking a short trip to a friend's church/town south of Charleston. Pray for spiritual renewal, rest, creativity and an open heart to hear from the Lord. My goal is to do this once a month and so pray that I would be faithful in carving out this time.
2. Ask the Lord to give us the needed host homes & leaders for our D-Groups (small groups) on the Isle of Palms and Mt. Pleasant. Also for direction on how many groups, times, locations, etc.
3. For a continued good relationship and unity with our host church, St. Mark's Lutheran on the Isle of Palms. We love St. Mark's and pastor (Phil) and desire to be a blessing to them.
4. Pray for God's strength, protection, confidence, humility and joy as we face the spiritual attack. There is no doubt that the enemy would like to disrupt the work or discourage our plant team and families. Pray our team to put on the full armor of God.
