LINDSAY LOU
Saturday, September 8 @ 7:30pm

Lindsay Lou's singing floats over the instrumental mastery and deep groove of her band with dynamics that range from a lullaby to a battle cry. In the words of David Grier, “Lindsay...sings the way you would want to if you could. Phrasing, tone, emotion, it's all there. Effortless seemingly. Simply mesmerizing. Riveting! Don't miss the musical force that is Lindsay Lou.” Lindsay's brand new full-length "Southland" (April 2018) is a collection of songs examining the range of emotions and complex themes of our changing times; delivered with soulfully fierce intensity and tender intimacy that demands your attention.

OLD TIME DANCE w/NEW BALLARDS BRANCH BOGTROTTERS
Saturday, September 15 @ 7:30pm

The New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters play in the traditional Appalachian string band style, often playing for square dances around the region. Rounding out the Bogtrotters lineup are: Eddie Bond (Fiddle & Vocals), Dennis Hall (Guitar), Bonnie Bond (Bass/Vocals), Caroline Noel Beverley (Mandolin) and Josh Ellis (Banjo). Old time music is alive and well, and continues to attract fans of all ages. The New Ballards Branch Bogtrotters remain a driving force in carrying the traditional music of the Virginia/Carolina Blue Ridge into the new millennium.
Admission: $8 at the door
HONKY TONK DANCE w/WESTERN CENTURIES
Sunday, September 23 @ 7:30pm

The first generation of country artists borrowed from everything around them: Appalachian stringband music, Texas fiddle traditions, cowboy songs, Delta blues. In an era of unprecedented access to our musical pasts, shouldn’t country music be even more diverse than it was in its infancy? Honky-tonk supergroup Western Centuries, back with a new album in 2018, surely understands this. They aren’t bound by any dictum to write songs in a modern country, or even a retro country style; instead they’re taking their own personal influences as three very different songwriters and fusing it into a sound that moves beyond the constraints of country.
Admission: $10 in advance, $12 at the door

ROB ICKES & TREY HENSLEY
Thursday, September 27 @ 7:30pm

Based on a mutual love of bluegrass, country, blues, western swing, and other string band music of all kinds, the partnership of dobro player Rob Ickes (who also plays superlative lap steel guitar in the duo on occasion) and acoustic/electric guitarist Trey Hensley continues to delight and astound audiences of traditional American music around the globe. The excitement at their gigs is palpable, it is contagious, and it is constant. Their sets tend to be a heady mix of the familiar and beloved and the new and unexpected.
