Order Deadline for this Week

Aloha Friends!

I will be traveling to Alaska this week so all pre-orders will need to be sent in by 6pm tomorrow (Wednesday August 29th.) Also, Captain Tony will be joining me on our trip and his boat will not be fishing so we will not be selling fish this weekend. Elena, Kady, and Lauren will be running the markets while I am gone.

Captain Tony and I looking forward to our "Babymoon."

New York Steaks and Wild Boar Back!

We are stocked up with a nice variety of meat cuts so check out our ORDER FORM for availability. This week we have brought back the New York Strip Steak Center Cut in limited amounts. If you've been waiting patiently to see that on the menu again make sure to order quickly. I only have about 12lbs of NYs and they will sell out fast.

Wild Mac Nut Boar from the Big Island came in
despite Hurricane Lane's efforts :) They raised the price slightly but it's still worth it for such a unique, delicious, and clean local meat. You will find that at the bottom of the menu. We have 70/30 ground in 1lb packs as usual. This nutty, sweet, complex, and fatty meat is a wonderful addition to lean cuts or even just mixed in with the ground beef for a delicious meatball or burger. For those of you interested in the lard and other Wild Boar products, they will be available as soon as possible, hopefully by next month.

Makaweli Ranch 100% Grass-fed NY Strip Steak

***Please use a computer to make your order as our form is too long for mobile devices. If you do not have access to a computer just send an email with Name, Phone Number, Desired Market Pick Up Location, and Cuts/Quantities.  I will try and keep the form updated as some cuts will sell out.

Pig Farming...

I'm really excited to be adding more Pono Pork to our menu. We will be phasing out 2Lady Farmer's so long as our Pono Pork supply continues. It is still a work in progress but it is my goal to supply the highest quality meat sources on the island. Pono Pork Pigs are raised to a standard beyond organic and have amazingly unique qualities because of the careful care of farmer David Wong. He focuses on biodiversity through Korean Natural Farming methods and creates an exceptional product that far surpasses most scaled pig farms.

Happy Pono Pig expressing her natural desire to root and dig in the dirt (which is inoculated with probiotics.)The green forage she is feeding on is her daily dose of the super food Moringa.

We will be highlighting David Wong's story and the details of his farm in the coming month. Civil beat recently did an article that speaks mostly to the pig farming industry in Hawaii. I can't wait to share with you David's knowledge and practices in the near future. We are very grateful to have this product and will continue to work on increasing this selection.

That's all for this week! Aloha,

Jess
