Dear RGHS Parents and girls

This week has seen the start of the Matric Preliminary Examinations.  While this can be a stressful time for the Matrics, please encourage your daughters to pace themselves and to do their utmost to be calm in their examinations.  Evidence suggests that the human brain functions far better in a calm state and enhances the recall of information.

I trust that you have had the opportunity to read the reports in the past few weeks with contributions from our recently established Photo & PR team.  My thanks go to each of the girls involved in this team for the articles and photographs they have supplied to keep us all informed.

With the City of Cape Town considering a relaxation on the water restrictions I need to remind everyone that should level 6B restrictions be relaxed, we will return to normal school uniform at that point.  Please do ensure that your daughter looks through the uniform regulations and that she is smartly dressed in a uniform of which to be proud.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Music fundraising auction. I’m sorry to say that those who were not there missed out on a splendid evening of music.  In addition to this you lost out on the chance of a lifetime... my parking space for the remainder of the year! Thank you in particular to Mrs Dee Penny for all the extra hours she put in to making the evening a success.

I wish all our teams taking part in this weekend’s sporting events all the best and I trust you will all enjoy each match that is played.  Please do come along and support your daughter and her team, or even her friend’s team. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet other parents in the grade, have a good cup of coffee from Café Primo, grab a bite to eat from the tuckshop or World Challenge stall and enjoy a great weekend of sport. Sports fixtures and times can be found in the sports report.
