Het collegejaar is net begonnen, de eerste colleges zijn geweest en de stad is weer zo druk als vanouds. Ruim 5300 studenten begonnen dit jaar aan hun studie in Groningen. Ben je op zoek naar leuke activiteiten naast je studie? De Green Office organiseert en coordineert allerlei informatieve en leuke evenementen die gerelateerd zijn aan duurzaamheid. We hebben nieuwe student assistenten! Wil je weten wie zij zijn en wat zij bij de Green Office gaan doen? Lees hier meer!
Funky Phone: E-waste Arcades

Heb jij ook een verzameling met oude of kapotte telefoons die je niet meer gebruikt? Gooi ze in de Funky Phone! Dit is een arcadekast waar je in ruil voor je telefoon een leuk nostalgisch spelletje kan spelen. Daarnaast wordt je telefoon gerecycled én haal je €0,50 op voor een goed doel! Team Challenge

Hoe duurzaam zijn jij en je collega's bezig? Doe als RUG-team mee met de Green Challenge en ga elke maand een leuke uitdaging aan. Het meest duurzame team van de RUG valt in de prijzen! Voor meer informatie kun je hier verder lezen.
Duurzame tip
Verzamel en bespaar water.
Door grote bakken met verwijderbare deksels buiten te zetten, kun je regenwater opvangen. Dit kun je vervolgens gebruiken om je gazon, bloembedden en tuinen te sproeien. Zo bespaar je water en ben je duurzaam bezig!

Biodegradable plastics: new solution or new problem?

FSE ambassadeur Francisco Amaral heeft uit eigen interesse een korte essay geschreven over bio-afbreekbare plastics. Francisco wilde graag meer weten over hoe duurzaam dit plastic nou echt is en voegt op deze manier kennis toe aan de RuG. Je kunt het stuk lezen in deze link.

The academic year has just begun and the first lectures have taken place. Over 5300 students started their studies in Groningen this year. Looking for some extracurricular activities? The Green Office organises and coordinates all kinds of informative and fun events all related to sustainability. Will we see you at the upcoming events?

We have new student assistants! Do you want to know who they are and what they are going to do? Read more here!
Funky Phone: E-waste Arcades

Do you have old or broken phones lying around? You can now recycle them with the Funky Phone. In return you can play a fun nostalgic arcade game and you will raise €0,50 for a charity! You can find more information here.
Team Challenge

How sustainable are you and your co-workers? Participate with a UG-team with the Green Challenge and challenge yourself every month with a different challenge.The most sustainable team of the University of Groningen will win prizes! More information can be found through this link.
Sustainable Tip
Collect and save water.
Put containers with removable covers outside to collect rainwater that you can use to water your lawn, flower beds and gardens. This way you save water and you are being sustainable!
