As students prepare to head back to school, there is one essential school supply that requires no shopping and doesn’t cost a penny – it’s a library card.

This September, The Didsbury Municipal Library is joining with the American Library Association (ALA) and Parkland Regional Library for Library Card Sign-up Month, to encourage parents, caregivers and students to obtain a free library card that will save them money while reaping rewards in academic achievement and lifelong learning.

We won best "best non-commercial float" in

Come and celebrate the publication of the amazing collaborative works of local artists and writers!

When the Library first proposed this project to local artists and writers, we were met with such positive energy, and we are so grateful to carry that energy into our second publication!

Artists were asked to bring one of their creations to our first WriteArt II meeting and Writers were asked to bring a poem or story not exceeding 400 words.
Written works were then placed in blank envelopes and artists drew from the envelopes at random to find the artist with which they would be paired.
The Artist then created a work inspired by the written work they had selected. Meanwhile the art works were displayed around the Library to give Writers plenty of opportunity to view and reflect. They then wrote a story or composed a poem to accompany the work of art that an artist has selected for them.

An informational evening for anyone teaching/ learning/supporting students K - 12

Free but registration is required: Min. Attendance 25 - Max. 40
