Chuck and I enjoyed being camp grandparents for kids camp II.  Driving  the golf cart was definitely a fun perk!!
Chuck had the privilege of praying with two of these three boys when they were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Unexpected Blessing

We had the privilege of serving as camp grandparents during the 2nd week of IL District Kid's Camp.  We loved driving around on the golf cart and helping out where we could: taking kids to the nurse, back to their cabin after meds at night, helping a straggler catch up to the rest of their group, taking kids from one side of camp to another for their next  activity, delivering water to the counselors, etc.   However, some of our favorite moments came when we were 'high five-ing' the kids and praying for them as they came into the cafeteria for meals.  This enabled us to build relationships  with them and provided many opportunities for loving on the kids.
Many kids' lives were impacted during that week of camp.  Watching those who came in early before service to pray or those who responded to the altar times after service were certainly some of our favorite moments.  Seeing children, first to fifth grade, seeking after God was so precious to us.  How much more it must be to our heavenly Father!  However, for Chuck, praying with two boys when they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit was his personal favorite.  And after praying with them he found out that one of them was a grandson of a longtime friend from North Parkway church in Pekin!  We loved how God allowed him to be at the right place at the right time at such a special moment when these young men were filled with the Holy Spirit.

First stop, All Nations Assembly of God in Albuquerque with Pastor Marvin Begay, Presbyter of the Native American Section.
After removing a lock, Chuck was able to get into one of the bathrooms and take care of one of the problems immediately.
We had many meetings with church leadership, hearing their hearts, vision and seeing the needs.
THANKS Steve & Bev Clindaniel (US missionaries) for driving us 1,984 miles in our 4 1/2 days!!!

In 4 1/2 days we spent 35 hours and 17 minutes in a small 4-door car, driving 1,984 miles!!

We were picked up at the airport in Albuquerque, NM, by US missionaries Steve & Bev Clindaniel, and almost immediately the four of us set off for our whirlwind tour to see 14 Native American Assemblies of God churches throughout New Mexico.  Our physical bodies were cramped and tired, but we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the pastors and leaders of the churches and hearing their hearts for the areas that they served.  Most of the pastors have worked among Native Americans for a decade or more and their passion for the area was clear.  The spiritual needs as well as some of the physical needs (of the church buildings or parsonages) were also clearly evident.  Most of these works are small and in financially depressed areas.
They are looking for individuals or teams to come alongside them and partner with them in upkeep, remodeling or restructuring of some of the buildings as well as ministry possibilities.  The opportunities for partnership range from small to large, so any and all sizes and levels of ability would be welcome.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact us.  We would be happy to send you information about the various needs/projects that are available.
Prayer Requests
PERU:  September 6th-21st.  We will be facilitating a marriage retreat in Lima as well as pastors' conferences among the Quechua in the cities of Tinta and Quillabamba, both in the Cuzco region.  Please pray for anointing, discernment, health and safe travels.
On a personal note...

We will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary in just a few days!  We are truly grateful to God for bringing us together and allowing us the privilege of advancing His mission in the US and around the world.  THANKS for partnering with us!!
