BBQ date moved due to weather!

Unfortunately our little hall is a bit too cozy to accommodate our annual BBQ when the weather takes a cold turn. We have decided to host our annual chili cook-off and BBQ on Saturday Sept 22 as the forecast is quite a bit better. Join us from 3-6pm. We hope to see you there!

Annual General Meeting - Wed September 26th, 7pm

Join us at the Sands to hear more about what we've accomplished this year and help us vote in our new executive board members! There will be draw prizes and snacks provided. Kids are welcome and we will have crayons and coloring books to take home. Free memberships will be available!

We will also present the league's financial statements and give an update on our upcoming casino event, the fundraiser that provides the majority of the league's operating budget.

AGM will take place at the Sands Inn & Suites, 12340 Fort Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T5B 2B9

Call for Board Members

Our annual general meeting will be taking place in September and we are looking to add a few new board members!

We are specifically trying to recruit:

Secretary - take meeting minutes and act as a signing authority for our bank accounts

Hall Director - Books hall rentals and will assist renters with hall access. May arrange for maintenance and contractors.

Membership Director - Maintains our membership directory, distributes membership cards

Communications Director - Create email newsletter and flyers and maintain social media accounts

Programming/Sports Director - Coordinates programming at the hall and acts as a liaison to sports organizations for the league (New position!)

Volunteers with general interest in joining the board are always welcome.

Volunteer commitment is approximately one board meeting per month (about 1.5 hours), plus meetings at appropriate outside organization meetings a few times a year for the president and vice-president positions. Time commitment at events is about 3 hours every 3-4 months.

The league could not operate without the dedicated volunteer board members that give their time each month! Involvement in the board is a great way to stay in touch with current events and activities in our area.

Activity Group Returns!

Watch for more info on our popular early Thursday activity group, returning in late September. This program is recommended for children ages 6-12 but younger children are welcome if accompanied by a parent.

Exhibition Lands Update

Hear an update and share your thoughts on the future of the exhibition lands, formerly known as Northlands.

Meeting to take place at Bellevue Community League, 7308-112 Ave. 1-3pm and 5-8 pm. Parking is free.
