Keep It Coming! We Can Do It!
The first week of the Annual Giving Campaign is in the bag. Thank you so much to everyone who helped get it going and who already donated. We need to raise $2400 per day in order to make this a one-ask fundraiser. Here’s what it’s about:
  • Our goal is $64,000 which funds our teachers, enrichment programs, and community events
  • This campaign replaces multiple asks including PTA membership drive, Class Funds, Walk-a-Thon, Read-a-Thon, Red Envelope Campaign—so give everything you can now
  • You can give in a lump sum or pay in monthly installments
  • Your friends and family (who supported past Walk-a-Thons and Read-a-Thons from 2+ years ago) can also support your students
  • Recommended amount is just $2.77 per student per school day (a total of $500) although any amount is appreciated!
  • Our goal is 100% participation
Three ways to donate
1. Return the red envelope to the office or your teacher. Extra letters are on the bulletin board in the lobby.
2. Donate online at bit.ly/lsagcdon.
3. Look for our weekly donation collectors at drop off or pickup to give them your envelope or donate on the spot.

Turn in to win
A Principal's Pizza Party will be awarded to:
• The top three classes with the highest participation percentage AND
• The class with the highest total donation amount in six groups: Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th and 5th grades together, and SDC

And if we meet our overall goal, the whole school will celebrate with an extended Celebration Dance Party!

How are we doing?
Sixteen classes have participated already.
• Classes with highest percent participation are Ms Angela (18%), Ms. Fernandez (14%), and Ms. Cheung (11%) in third place.
• Classes with highest amounts raised in their grade groups are Ms. Fernandez, Ms. Hopper, Ms. Palacio, Ms. Amanda, Ms. Chan and Mr. Sasaki.
This is a great start but there's a long way to go so turn in those envelopes and launch your class to the top!

Show your spirit
Show your support for the school and the Annual Giving Campaign with these events:

Box Tops How-To

You've clipped them...now what do you do with them? Put your loose Box Tops in an envelope or baggie and drop them off in the Box Tops box in the office. It's against the wall on the left when you walk in. (If you prefer to stick them to a sheet of paper, please use a non-destructive adhesive like rubber cement.)

Thank you to Kindergarten parent Wendy Liu for stepping up and taking over from our last Box Tops Coordinator whose son graduated last year!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered and came out for a fun Lakeshore Community Picnic last Sunday!
Walk & Roll to School Day: Wednesday, October 10!

Walk, bike, take transit, or carpool
to school! It's good exercise, and it helps kids connect with our neighborhoods and communities. It's also a great way to sneak in some family time on the way to school. In past years, a bike train from the Outer Sunset was organized. Contact Chris McCarthy (exoplanet@gmail.com) for details.

Fun activities and prizes! Check out sfsaferoutes.org for more information about this city-wide event. Please sign up at bit.ly/ls18walkroll if you can help out.
