Apple Product Announcements - 3 New iPhones and More

Hi <<First Name>>,

Apple held its highly anticipated Fall media event today, which featured product updates for the iPhone and Apple Watch.

I'm not going to cover all the details from today's event, but I will highlight the important items you should know. Moving forward, I will spend time in future editions breaking down the Apple's hardware, software, and accessory information released today.

So let's recap today's event, shall we...

Meet the New iPhone XR and iPhone XS Max & iPhone XS Max

Apple announced 3 new iPhones today. It followed last year’s iPhone X with the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. While the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max have essentially the same guts, just in two different sizes, the iPhone XR introduces a new "low-budget" phone into the premium iPhone lineup.

Let's start with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, and break them down. Each iPhone features edge-to-edge displays (barely a bezel), with the iPhone XS coming in at the now-familiar 5.8 inches, while the iPhone XS Max's display is 6.5 inches (Apple's biggest iPhone screen ever.)

Here is a quick breakdown of the iPhone XS and XS Max:

  • Two sizes: 5.8-inch (458 ppi) and 6.5-inch (458 ppi), with OLED HDR screen (Super Retina displays.)
  • Colors: Gold, silver and space gray finishes.
  • New screen glass most durable ever.
  • Dual camera: 12-megapixel wide and telephoto lenses.

    • Supports 5 trillion operations per second (WOW!)

  • Battery life: iPhone XS should last 30 minutes longer than iPhone X; iPhone XS Max claims 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone X.
  • Supports Wireless Charging.
  • Dual-SIM card support through eSIM technology (allows you to have two different phone lines with two different carriers.)
  • Face ID promises to work faster at unlocking the phones.
