The first of the series of four Beacon Hill Family Fun events took place last Saturday, September 8th and went extremely well! Thanks to the many people who attended, participated in the fun groups and played in the big game. The barbecue raised money for the Miracle League in Ottawa. The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre was present with an information table and some great giveaways. Thanks to all of our sponsors who helped make the first event a huge success!
In honour of the Canadian Women’s National Baseball Team bringing home a bronze medal from the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup, this week's event will be #WomensBaseballDay and #BaseballGirlsDay at Eastvale Park!
The FFL is about barrier-free community baseball. Everyone is encouraged to play. Girls and women are extremely underrepresented in Little Leagues and in baseball in general. We want to help change that.
Please encourage the girls and women in your life to come out to this Saturday’s event (Sept.15, 12-4 p.m. at Eastvale Park). There will be a special giveaway for every girl and woman who plays!
Also, there will be an information table by Ottawa Girls Baseball. There you will get the inside scoop on an all-girls baseball league that will be launching this spring for girls ages 5 to 11!
