Capture the Flag
Who: Youth in grades 6-8. Friends are ALWAYS invited, so invite them!
Parents: This tends to be a popular outing - can a couple of you join us? It's an especially fun one to be a part of.
REQUIRED: Youth Medical Info and Permission Slip
When: THIS Friday, Sept 14, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Where: Meet and pick up in the Jr Youth Room (down the stairs just inside the carport entrance of the church).
What: Can we Light the Way? We'll chew on that a bit before we carpool to the park for some as-intense-as-you-prefer-to-make-it CTF. The weather looks great. Bring a friend and wear shoes that can get a little muddy, because it's likely to be a little soft in some places.
Why: Capture the Flag is fun. Opportunities to run like crazy. Opportunities to chat with your friends. Opportunities to make new ones!

COTS Jr Youth Fall Retreat
Friday, Sep 28, 5:30 pm - Sunday, Sep 30, 12:15 pm
Think you can't make a difference because you're in Jr High? You could make ALL the difference.
YOU can Light the Way.
We get away to Camp Asbury in Hiram, OH, for a couple days & through games & activities we get to know each other & God better. It's a beautiful setting. We'll do the (appropriately named) Giant Swing. Capture the Flag over dozens of acres. And lots more. Friends are invited!
It is THE BEST way for the youth to gel as a group
AND it's fun.
NOTE: While we don't want anyone to miss anything, sometimes it's unavoidable. Camp Asbury is about 45 mins away - it's fine to bring your youth out late or to pick up early.
Deadline to Register is September 20.

Our philosophy?
1) Consider worshiping together as a family.
Why? It's our once/week opportunity to worship God together as a community - and our children and youth are part of it. They learn from watching and being with you. Every time another person engages in worship, the experience of every other person in the room is richer.
2) For parents and youth: Consider engaging in a small group - like Sunday School.
Why? If we don't chew on and wrestle with and push back on and seek to grow in our faith and our understanding of who God is, we end up with all sorts of unrealized potential in our relationship with God.
Too much for your family? We get it - it may be a lofty goal. Maybe worship together one week and do Sunday School the next. Let Curt know if you have questions or want ideas or would like more info on children's, youth, or adult Sunday School and small group opportunities.

Some say it's haunted. Others say it's stalked by wild bears and angry squirrels. Whatever it is, it's fun to try to find as you and your friends hike the dark trails of the North Chagrin Reservation.
