Putting Our Flesh Under: Our Sight
Last month, we looked at dealing with our flesh regarding our speech. Just like we must be led by the Spirit with regards to our tongue, we also need to be led by the Spirit in our sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7 BSB
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
We have to be able to see things from God’s perspective, which is spiritual.
Proverbs 22:9 ESV
“Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed, for he shares his bread with the poor.
You have to be able to see beyond what you see.
Romans 8:24 BSB
“For in this hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he can already see.”
The enemy tries to keep you carnal and focused on what you see with eyes of flesh. You have to overlook what is before you and see into the spiritual. Whatever God has said is what will be.
2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
If you claim to have faith, when God tells you something, you take Him at His Word. You don’t have to see it in the physical to know that it is a reality in your life.
Hebrews 11:1 KJV
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
There are times in our lives when we are standing in faith for something that God has declared over us. The enemy will use people around us who are not walking in faith to speak words contrary to what God said to us. Where God wants to take you in faith, everyone will not want to go. You take God at His Word and stay in faith.
Matthew 13:13, 16 NLT
“That is why I use these parables. For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.” “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.”
