Details for Race #2 at Lake Orion High School on 9/16
MiSCA has raced at Lake Orion in the past, and after a few years away we are excited to be back in 2018. Located on the grounds of Lake Orion High School, trails are adjacent to athletic fields. There is ample open space for staging and team tent area. Ease of access to the trails makes this a fun spectator’s venue. In addition, the numerous miles of trail will allow for diverse and appropriate courses in each category. Restrooms will be available in the school. We look forward to our return to LOHS. Early Registration Discount ends today (9/9), so register now and save $10!

8:30 am Registration Opens
  • Plates that were handed out at Race #1 are the SAME plates you will use in ALL 6 RACES this year. Please remember your plate - the fee for lost/damaged plates is $10.
  • Coaches will pick up any plates for new riders on their team.
  • New riders not on a team can pick up their plate at the registration tent.
  • If you have not registered in SI Play yet this year, be prepared to provide health insurance, allergy, and doctor information. Please be aware that all riders must complete our annual registration ($50) and race registration ($25-35). You can save money, avoid the line, and maintain your sanity on race day by registering online and following this guide.

1 Child = 1 Race Day Volunteer Needed!
We need your help to ensure race day is safe and runs smoothly. If you have a child racing in the D&D Bicycles 2018 MiSCA Race Series, please sign up to volunteer for a few hours. If every family volunteers just once, we will have plenty of volunteers to fill the year! You can sign up for these important roles via Sports Illustrated Play or email us. To register in SI Play, follow the steps to sign up to coach/volunteer, selecting yourself (adult), and the race you wish to volunteer at. Next select race day volunteer and scroll to the bottom of the page for the needed volunteer roles (listed below). If you'd prefer, please email Jodie Giles, our volunteer coordinator and let us know how you can help! We also need help with setup on Saturday!
  • Course Marking and Start/Finish Setup: Hop on a bike or help out near the pits, clearly identifying course direction/boundaries and hazards to avoid. Your help ensures we start the races on time!
  • Parking and Traffic Control: Greet folks as they arrive and direct them to the designated parking areas. Direct traffic for road closures.
  • Registration: Help us get set up, then it's all about communication helping coaches and student-riders get ready to race!
  • Course Marshal: Be right in the heart of racing! Stationary and Roaming Course Marshals are on the course to help ensure that riders stay on course, remain uninjured, and make other park users aware of the race. You may also assist racers when they finish the race - some need a bit of help knowing how to exit the course. It's a prime time spectating position.
  • Course Cleanup: Our goal is to "leave no trace" and many hands make light work!
