BACK TO SCHOOL BBQ & PICNIC HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED! THE NEW DATE IS THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20TH 5:00PM-7:30PM
**UPDATE** We have been monitoring the weather forecast and decided to reschedule the Back to School BBQ** We hope to see you Thursday September 20th 5:00PM-7:30PM! If you've already pre-ordered food your order will still be honored or refunded if you cant make it. THE NEW DEADLINE TO PRE-ORDER FOOD IS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH.
Come play with some old friends and make new ones, too! Enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers grilled to perfection, or bring your own meal and have a picnic! Dinner includes your choice of hamburger, veggie burger, or 100% beef hot dog, a bag of chips, drink and Popsicle. Check your Tuesday Folder for this Advanced Purchase flyer! Cost at the door will be $10 per person. Children can enjoy the playground, and feel free to bring your own soccer balls, Frisbee, etc. to use. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No drop-offs. No exceptions.

FIRST PTA MEETING IS ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, AT 6:00PM

Join us for our first PTA Meeting of the year on Wednesday September 19th at 6pm in the library! Principal Bloom and several staff members will be present!

PTA MEMBERSHIP & CORPORATE MATCHING
You would be surprised how much our PTA funds additional learning opportunities and programs for your children not provided by FCPS. PTA donations fund interactive technology (like Dreambox), STEM needs, landscaping, teacher wish lists, classroom libraries, before and after school enrichment programs, staff development, and community building events like Halloween Fun Night, International Day, Spelling/Geography Bees, Bingo Night, 5K Fun Run and much more. The PTA also paves the way for new programs and connects parents, teachers, staff, and children together.
We suggest that in along with the $20 membership dues, families consider donating a minimum of $50 per child to help fund the PTA budget. More importantly, whatever the amount – we are striving for universal participation so donate whatever is best for your budget. We need your help in building the best school community together! We also have some excellent thank you gifts to check out this year.
You can join by credit card at https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com, by check made out to FHES PTA or cash. Leave the completed form and payment in the FHES PTA mailbox. Click here for the membership form.
If you work in the private sector, you may want to ask your employer if they match employee donations to non-profit organizations. Many employers do a dollar for dollar match. Please let us know if we can help you with this process!!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES
Please consider volunteering, volunteering is a great way to get to know fellow parents and help out the school! WE HAVE AN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR ONE OR MORE PEOPLE TO CHAIR HALLOWEEN FUN NIGHT! PARENT PALS
There's a new program at Freedom Hill called Parent Pals provided by the PTA and our FHES staff. This program welcomes new families to Freedom Hill by matching them up with a returning family who can be a great help to them. If you think back to the first day of anything (school, work, etc.) - it's always helpful to know someone and have a peer to help you navigate a new thing. We will match a new and returning family together, introduce them over email and the welcoming family will reach out and set up a meeting or phone call with the new family where they'll go over some key resources which we'll provide. GIANT BONUS BUCKS & AMAZON AFFILIATES
These are two great sources of income for the PTA. These companies donate to Freedom Hill when you shop, at NO COST TO YOU! A flyer for Giant Bonus Bucks will come home in soon in your child's Tuesday Folders.
