Roq La Rue Returns!

 

I am pleased to announce that in October, Creatura House will be transitioning into Roq La Rue Gallery.

Roq La Rue existed from 1998-2016 in Belltown and then later in Pioneer Square. I closed the gallery in September 2016 because I needed a break after 18 years, and I wanted to explore some other things. In those two years I travelled, started a non profit called Creatura Wildlife Projects (which still exists and will continue on), and I started Creatura House. Creatura House was initially envisioned to be a shop, but over time we pivoted back to primarily focusing on art. I just can’t stay away it seems! So I figured it was a fine time, now that I was rested and reinvigorated, to return to Roq La Rue Gallery- an entity I had lovingly built over almost two decades. Not only that though, I missed the community of people who grew with Roq La Rue over all those years, turning the gallery into something so much more, and certainly something bigger than me! I am excited to clamber abroad that ship once more, and judging by the positive response I’ve gotten people are happy to see the gallery return, especially in these times when mid level galleries are busy closing rather than opening. We have an absolutely stellar roster of art shows coming up, and I can’t wait to share more.

The gallery space will stay in it’s current location on Capitol Hill in Seattle, but I’ll be spending September overhauling it. I’ll be transitioning the website and social media over the next few weeks, but if you follow Creatura House on social media or our mailing list you'll be automatically transferred over.
