Dear SJB Parents,

The purpose of these newsletters is to inform you of opportunities to fulfill your parent participation hours. Please do not "unsubscribe" as this will be the primary means of communicating parent participation tasks and responsibilities to you.

As you read through our newsletters you can sign up for work by clicking on a box/button that looks like this:

If the sign up sheet won't open try using a different browser.
If both parents are assisting for an event please sign both parents in separately on the sign up sheet. This ensure that we get an accurate head count. Thanks!

Trivia Night Tasks

Below is a list of all the tasks that need filling for our Trivia Night. Hours completed here can be used towards your 5 fundraiser/work bee hours.
Look for the green button below to sign up to help.

Panit and Lumpia Makers:
Do you know how to make Panit or Lumpia? We are looking for someone who can make these yummy Filipino dishes for our Trivia Night and have them delivered to the school by 4:30 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Grocery Shopper:
We need one person to pick up food and supplies before our event and deliver them to the school. This task will require you to go to several locations for items. A shopping list will be provided for you.

Set Up Crew:
On Friday, Oct 26 we will set up the gym starting at 3:30 pm. You will be required to have some muscle power to set up tables and chairs. Someone will be there to help the team place everything.

Food Preparation:
You will be preparing salads, cutting, slicing and any other food related preparation from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Concession/Floor/Kitchen:

This task entails serving food, maintaining the floor, packing up food and cleaning the kitchen from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Registration Table:
Take tickets as people arrive and direct them to the seating plan from 5:15 pm until 7:15 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Bar Ticket Sales:
Sell bar tickets from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

50/50 Ticket Sales:
Easy task here....you are simply required to go around the floor selling 50/50 tickets from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Sat. Oct 27. If you can count you can do this job!

Raffle Ticket Sales:
Another easy task. Just work the floor selling raffle tickets from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Judge:
As the game moves you will judge the winners of each round from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sat. Oct 27.

Scorekeeper and DJ:
This requires you to do two jobs, you will keep score and manage the Ipod from 5:30 pm until 10:30 pm on Sat. Oct 27.
You must be comfortable using an excel spreadsheet and you must be familiar with using Itunes.

Clean Up:
The clean up crew will start at 10:00 pm until finished on Sat. Oct 27. Garbage pick up, table & chair take down and everything in between to get the gym ready for students on Monday morning.

POP CAN RECYCLING

Pop cans are picked up once per week at the front entrance of the school. Your job would be to sort the cans, remove any garbage if necessary and return the cans to a depot for a refund. The money can be handed into the school office the following day via your student. If you are interested in this task please sign up. WE STILL NEED MORE HELP WITH THIS!

Pop, Pop, fizz, fizz I can make recycling my biz. I'll sign up!

Microwave Cleaning

We need 2 parents to come into the school to clean the 12 microwaves. Any time of the day will do but one parent should come in Mon. or Tues. and the other Thurs. or Fri.

I'll be brave and clean the microwaves!

Leaf Blowing

We need two parents to do leaf blowing once per week each in the front of the school. We have a blower available for parent use.

Leaf blowing is where I'm going. I'll sign up!

Outside Work Bee

Due to the rain over the past two weekends the work bee was canceled. We will try again this upcoming weekend Sept 29/18. Here is praying for better weather!

Good Weather: We will be doing yard work outside so any garden tools, rakes, hedge trimmers, weed whackers, blowers, or lawn mowers that you may have please bring them. Also don't forget your garden gloves and knee pads.

Inclement Weather: We will cancel the work bee and proceed on our next scheduled work bee which is on Oct 20/18.

Parking Lot Painting

Due to the rainy weather we were not able to paint the parking lot lines and gate. We will attempt this again during the work bee on Sept 29/18 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. If you have some skill in this area we could sure use your help.

Rain, rain go away I really want to paint on this day!

Bakers Group

Baking needs within our school are requested faster than this newsletter is published. If you would like to be placed on the bakers list to receive advanced baking requests so that you are the first to know then please sign up for the "Bakers Club". The baking coordinator Catherine, will contact you via e-mail as needs arise.
