Happy Fall, Everybunny!

The days are getting shorter, and soon the temperatures will become milder as well. Luckily, Triangle Rabbits has something this season for everyone! Your bunny can hop, flop, run, and jump into fall by joining our Agility Club! Or, if you prefer more leisurely days, meet us for a cup of hot chocolate. As we look ahead into the winter season, be sure to mark your calendars for our annual Holiday Boutique! Read on for details!

Fixer-Upper Bunny Fund Matching Challenge!

Donations made between now and October 15 will be matched by generous donors for up to a total of $3000!

Yes! You read that right! Some amazing donors have challenged everyone to donate now by matching donations up to $3000 total in our Fixer-Upper Bunny Fund fall fundraiser. If we raise $3000, that means the bunnies will get $6000! Your gift to the Fixer-Upper Bunny Fund Matching Challenge will go twice as far helping rabbits in our community!

In 2018, Triangle Rabbits has helped several bunnies with medical needs on their road to recovery. In caring for illnesses like respiratory infections, and other medical needs like mites, cuterebra, or arthritis, we’ve spent over $5,900 on vet care so far this year! Part of our mission is to help rabbits like William (pictured above), Poppy, Chimi, and Rosie, who need some extra TLC. Our fall matching fundraiser goes towards our medical fund, and will allow us to provide care for even more "fixer-upper bunnies"!

The Power of Play

Enrichment is an important part of rabbit care. To help keep bunnies active and healthy, choose the best toys, keep them busy on a budget, and change their environment regularly. Read all about how play is an important part of your bunny's job in this month's blog post.

Books & Bunnies has wrapped up for summer

We had lots of fun this summer with our Books & Bunnies program! Kids of all ages, from pre-K through 8th grade, came out to visit with the rabbits and read their favorite stories to them. Thank you to Astrid, our Books & Bunnies Program Coordinator, and to her best friend, Clover, for making this program a success!

Eddie's Recovery

Eddie is a special guy with a long road to recovery. He came to Raleigh in May with a group of 23 bunnies rescued from a hoarding situation, where animal control found 138 rabbits in one Triad NC area home. Of all the Raleigh-bound bunnies, poor Eddie was in the worst shape. He was extremely underweight, he had a lump on his side, and he had a skin infection under his matted, dirty fur. Eddie went to stay with one of our most experienced foster homes, and he has flourished in their care! Daily brushing while snuggling on the couch has made his fur handsome and soft again. Thanks to your support, he got the medicine he needed to clear up his skin infection. We were also able to have the lump biopsied, and are happy to share that the report said it was benign! After he gained some weight Eddie was neutered, and now he is ready for a home of his own! He does have some arthritis, but daily medication keeps him happy and pain free. We know that the right home will come along for this special guy, and we are enjoying his bunny snuggles in the meantime.
