September 11, 2018

TULSA, OK – The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (The National Center) will host its next Native Edge Institute (NEI) on October 29th at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma. NEI Oklahoma will once again be facilitated by GovContractPros and will provide both growing and advanced government contractors hands-on training in federal and corporate small business programs, including how firms can leverage these programs to enter the supply chain of larger prime contractors. The NEI is supported through a generous donation from
Key Bank Foundation, which was announced earlier this year at RES, and is being hosted in collaboration with the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma (AICCO). The NEI will take place on the morning of the 29th, in conjunction with the 10th anniversary celebration of the Native American 40 under 40 awards.

"We are thrilled to continue our Native Edge Institutes with an event in the heart of Indian Country at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa," said Chris James, President and CEO of the National Center. "NEI combines the National Center's time-honored programming with outside expertise to give attendees the leg up they need to be successful contractors. Hosting the NEI in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of our 40 under 40 awards will also give attendees the opportunity to network with some of the best and brightest in Indian Country. We are especially appreciative of the support from KeyBank Foundation, as well as the AICC of Oklahoma, and look forward to seeing you in Tulsa in October."

The one-day event only costs $49 (lunch included). Program topics and sessions will include:
  • Leveraging the Mentor-Protege and Joint Venture programs
  • Staying small and surviving the mid-size
  • Financing Alternatives
  • Tribal, ANC, and NHO Strategies
  • Compliance reviews for size and status
  • Updates on Certifications: 8(a) Business Development, HUBZone, SDVOSB, Woman-owned, including economic disadvantaged

“As part of our ongoing effort to provide opportunities to our members, the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma is excited to partner with the National Center to bring the Native Edge Institute to Oklahoma," said Annetta Abbott, AICCO Executive Director. "Joint collaborations such as NEI helps AICCO further our mission of growing business in Indian Country."
