Pastor's Corner 

First Year Confirmation Class
I have six kids in my class that meet on Sundays at 9am upstairs in one of the upper school classrooms. We study Luther’s Small Catechism.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Meets in the Conference Room at 10:30 a.m. to study the Scripture readings that are read in the worship services each weekend. All are welcome!

All Nations Mural Dedication 
Sunday, October 14 after worship. Maryland Parkway from Bridger to Lewis will be blocked off from 10:30am to 12:30pm for the celebration. We’ll buy the chicken and we’re asking people to bring side dishes and deserts. It’ll be a fun day!

Sunday 9:00 a.m. study on The Mormons in the Conference Room
Over 30 people were there last Sunday. Join us for this video based series week #4 “The Burden of Belief.”

Director of Music
Sandra Youmans is our volunteer worship music coordinator. She will also serve as the point person for our Music Team that meets monthly. Team members include: Pastor B, Marci Nuoffer and Jim & Angelina Papanek. With her retirement from Faith Lutheran school, Sandra has also dedicated each Wednesday to teaching music at our pre-school and elementary school. She also provides music for our school chapel services. Thank you Sandra!

Worship Matters 
I received several encouraging messages about last Sunday’s service. Many enjoyed seeing the church with more people in worship. They also appreciated the handbell specialist and a fluid blending of all our musical groups.

Cub Scout Popcorn

Cub Scouts will be at FGS this weekend with popcorn for sale.  Popcorn helps scouts attend camp and supports local heroes as well as the military.

School Supply Drive
Thank you for your generous donations to the school.  Some supply lists have been completed.  A revised list of donations is below.  You donations are greatly appreciated!  Both the elementary and preschool are in need of Colored construction paper (sulfite heavyweight, sold at Office Depot), Scotch Tape, Lots of Batteries size D, AA, AAA - Mostly D’s, Snacks for preschool are always welcome - they get 2 snacks per day.  Feel free to drop off supplies to the church office.

VOLUNTEER(S) NEEDED
FGS is looking for a couple people to assist a few hours each week.  Monday - Thursday: 12pm - 2pm & Wednesday 8:30am - 3pm.  Volunteers will assist with lunch breaks for the elementary and preschool as well as recess supervision and other opportunities as needed.  Please contact Debbie Simkins in the school office if you are available for any portion (or all) of these hours.  dsimkins@fgslc.org or 702-382-8610

Clipping box tops is an easy way to earn cash for our school. Contact the school office for more information.
