|
TechHelp’s Operational Excellence Team Team of Dave O’Connell, Gene Hamacher, and Gregg Lynde will kick off a public Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Course in the Treasure Valley on September 27 at the SBDC Nampa Business Accelerator. The Nampa course includes full-day sessions on 9/27, 10/17, 11/1 and 11/29 of 2018.
The team will schedule a course in Eastern Idaho for later this year. Let us know if you are interested in attending the Eastern Idaho Course.
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) is a well-known approach for achieving operational excellence that does more than simply improve production processes. LSS combines the process improvement benefits of Lean with the statistical process control (SPC) benefits of Six Sigma. It takes advantage of the “value-added” focus of Lean while maintaining the statistical rigors of Six Sigma. This series will include four full-day training sessions with three weeks between sessions for participants to complete project work that is an essential part of the LSSGB program.

SWI-MA Hosts Tour of Intermountain 3D
On Thursday, September 20, members of the Southwest Idaho Manufacturers' Alliance enjoyed a fascinating tour of Boise's Intermountain 3D Inc. Intermountain 3D is a printing service bureau and authorized 3D Systems reseller, with a mission to help manufacturers in the intermountain west incorporate new additive manufacturing technologies into their current processes. Intermountain 3D prints high-resolution prototypes and short-run production parts for product development, packaging, tooling, and other purposes. The company offers a reverse engineering service for older or obsolete parts that require CAD-models. For businesses ready to embrace 3D printing technologies, Intermountain 3D sells and services 3D Systems equipment and software. Intermountain 3D recently added a sophisticated SLS printer that was the star of the tour.
Above, Brian Hoffman (L) of Intermountain 3D explains a 3D printed part to Oster Hernandez of the College of Western Idaho.
