Hockey Season is Here...
Hockey season has arrived and Butler County, PA thrives as a result. The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township is official practice facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins and hosts a variety of hockey tournaments throughout the year.
The United States Hockey League will be hosting the USHL Fall Classic at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex September 27 through October 1.
USHL players from across the country and Canada will travel to Butler County to compete, as scouts from the the NHL and NCAA evaluate them for recruitment.
There will also be two invitational youth tournaments in conjunction with the USHL Fall Classic. With all 17 USHL teams and 32 youth organizations participating in the same location, this national event will have a significant economic impact on our county. The tournament has filled hotel rooms in the county rooms outside, as well.
We have created a concierge desk in the lobby of the complex to assist visitors while they are in Butler County. Our booth is set up during events and our volunteers assist with the following:
- Dinner reservations
- Transportation needs
- Provides maps and itineraries
- Phone charging stations
- General inquiries about the area
