Hockey Season is Here...
Hockey season has arrived and Butler County, PA thrives as a result.  The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township is official practice facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins and hosts a variety of hockey tournaments throughout the year. 

The United States Hockey League will be hosting the USHL Fall Classic at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex September 27 through October 1.  

USHL players from across the country and Canada will travel to Butler County to compete, as scouts from the the NHL and NCAA evaluate them for recruitment.  

There will also be two invitational youth tournaments in conjunction with the USHL Fall Classic.  With all 17 USHL teams and 32 youth organizations participating in the same location, this national event will have a significant economic impact on our county.  The tournament has filled hotel rooms in the county rooms outside, as well. 

We have created a concierge desk in the lobby of the complex to assist visitors while they are in Butler County.  Our booth is set up during events and our volunteers assist with the following: 

  • Dinner reservations 
  • Transportation needs
  • Provides maps and itineraries
  • Phone charging stations
  • General inquiries about the area

UPMC Lemieux
Sports Complex

The UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex is a large, multi-functional venue attracting thousands of visitors nationwide.  The facility hosts many hockey tournaments that bring in a large volume of teams, families and spectators. This facility features Learn to Play programs, hockey clinics, open and community skate, youth hockey programs, camps and more! 

Located in Cranberry Township, just 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh, UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex provides easy access to the Pittsburgh International Airport, Butler County Airport, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and other major interstates.

The Complex is the official practice facility for the Pittsburgh Penguins and home to the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite youth hockey program. The complex is 185,000 square feet and includes two sheets of ice; providing 1,333 seats. Top notch training is available with their world class staff of hockey professionals including former NHL players and current NHL coaches.

Meet Brianna
Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau is pleased to announce Brianna Kaiser as the Sports Sales and Event Manager for the Butler County Sports Commission.

In this new role, Brianna will work with sports planners, event facilities and hotels to acquire regional and national sporting events and tournaments, while assisting local sporting institutions and planners with their inbound travelling sporting events and tournaments. 

Brianna has spent the last 15 years of her career working in the hotel industry and joined the Hilton Worldwide "Circle of Excellence" for achieving the top ten percentile in national sales.

Brianna discovered a love of sports from a young age and graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Sports Management.
