California’s housing affordability crisis is harming communities across the state, stripping people of their incomes, disconnecting families from each other, restricting opportunities, forcing people into homelessness, and generating new patterns of segregation and stratification.
Next Wednesday, Sept. 19, the Haas Institute will release an analysis of the housing crisis at a public policy briefing in Oakland, CA. The event will include a presentation by the authors on the challenges facing millions of Californians in the area of housing and what can be done to address the crisis.
Speakers will include co-authors of the new publication Nicole Montojo, Housing Research Analyst at the Haas Institute and housing scholar Dr. Stephen Barton, along with local renters and residents. There will be time for audience Q&A.
Date: Wednesday, Sept. 19, 10:30 a.m. - noon
Location: Greenlining Institute, Resistance Hall, 360 14th St. Oakland, CA 94612
