Levenshulme Old Library CIO is looking for a part time
Finance and Operations Manager

Good with numbers? Passionate about creating a well run and efficient charity able to serve the people of Levenshulme and beyond? Interested in how arts and culture and community can improve lives? Levenshulme Old Library CIO are looking for an experienced self employed part time finance and operations manager.
This is a flexible position, initially for 6 months, to help use keep track of our accounts, ensure policies, information and other administrative systems are working well and up to date, and, crucially, help in the preparation of funding bids. Every Thursday 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm - Thursday Cuppa at Levenshulme Old Library. Whether you're curious about plans for the building or interested in volunteering some of your time to help us out, why not pop in for a cuppa and a chat and even a game of Scrabble!

Tuesday 25th September 7.30 pm - Levenshulme Women’s Institute “Women in Science”
We are pleased to welcome Levenshulme WI to host their monthly meetings at the Old Library. The topic of the September meeting is “Women in Science” Learn about the challenges of being a woman in particle physics from Dr Francisca Munoz (Physics & Astronomy,  Manc Uni) and hear about her cutting edge research.
It will be a very informal evening, with slides & Q&A and as always at WI lots of cake! Free to Levenshulme WI members, £3 for visitors.
Friday 28th September 2018, 10.30am to 12pm - “Baby Cakes” Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support
We’re a group of local mummies organising a coffee morning, because let’s face it…who doesn't love / need cake on a Friday morning? There will be a baby sensory area, fun games and a super-duper raffle!!
Bring your little ones to their first fundraiser and enjoy a brew with other local parents. All proceeds to Macmillan Cancer Support. Free entry. Suggested entry donation 50p
Saturday 29th September 8pm to 10pm - Loud at the Library - The Speed of Sound single launch, plus Turner - in aid of The Pankhurst Centre and Manchester Women’s Aid
In the centenary year of (some) women winning the right the to vote, Manchester underground music veterans The Speed Of Sound launch their double-A-side anthems of gender equality at Levenshulme Old Library. The Library carries a 1903 date-stamp, as does the leading militant organisation of the Suffragette movement; the Women's Social and Political Union.
All ticket money will go to the Pankhurst Centre & Manchester Women's Aid to support their volunteer run refuges and tireless work against domestic violence. A night of upbeat, assertive and melodic music.Plus: An intimate acoustic set from the Salfordian chanteuse Turner and her new band ahead of her long anticipated album release.

Saturday 6th October 2pm to 5.30pm - Mary Quaile Club “Dreams and Nightmares: Feminist Utopias and Dystopias”
The Mary Quaile Club will be looking at at how a number of 20th century women writers imagined the future, both as utopia,  and its opposite,  dystopia. They will also invite the audience in discussion to imagine and share  their own vision of utopia.
