A community survey (Activate Survey) will open from mid-October to mid-December 2018 to identify your priorities, needs and interests in leading an active and healthy lifestyle.

Sport & Recreation Community Grant Program

Current Sport and Recreation Grant applicants will be notified in late September if their projects have been funded. The next round opens on 1 February 2019 and closes 1 March 2019.

For clubs that are thinking about applying for funding for sports infrastructure in the next grant round, please be aware that your project may need to be assessed and approved by Council's planning department.

It's important to know if your project will need planning / building approval when you start planning for your project to ensure it can meet any planning / building requirements, and to allow for any applicable costs and assessment time frames needed.

Considering and allowing for planning / building requirements, costs and assessment time frames when planning your project can help your project be more successful in securing grants, and these costs are eligible items under Council's Sport and Recreation Grant program.

To find out if your project needs planning / building approval, contact Council on 131 872 and ask to speak to one of Council's Technical Advice Officers.

Before applying for a grant for sports infrastructure in a sports park, always speak to one of Council's Sport and Recreation Officers on 131 872.

Booking Sports Parks

Council is continuing to improve processes to better manage facilities across the Region, and to ensure consistency in the parks booking process. All users of Council’s sporting facilities across the Toowoomba Region are required to hold a current booking with Parks and Recreation Services.

Any club wishing to use a Council sports park must hold either a Seasonal or Casual User Permit. Failing to do so may result in public liability insurance being deemed as void, and is in breach of local laws.

Accurate booking information allows Council to undertake necessary facility maintenance with minimal impact on user groups. This accurate information will allow Council to plan for better facilities into the future, and helps provide evidence when requesting future facility upgrades or maintenance including opportunities that arise through grants.

All bookings must be directed to Council’s park bookings team at parkbookings@tr.qld.gov.au.

For more information about booking a sports field click here or contact Council 131 872.
