The EP Events Bulletin #1: Welcome

Hello! I’m Philippa and I joined the Emma Press team in March. If this email has winged its way into your inbox, it means you’ve signed up to receive our new monthly events bulletin, featuring recent event highlights and details of our upcoming events. Welcome!

Earlier this summer I organised a UK book tour for Rūta Briede, Latvian author and illustrator of children’s picture book Queen of Seagulls, including children’s storytelling workshops at festivals, schools and libraries. A personal highlight was taking part in Rūta’s craft workshop, where she taught us how to make Puplaks - little painted dolls made from Baltic sea-wood. (You can see my creations above!)

Currently I’m busy organising a tour for Ieva Flamingo, the Latvian poet behind children’s poetry collection The Noisy Classroom, which is set to include events at schools, libraries and Halesworth Arts Festival.
