Moral Injury Summit Special  |   September 5th, 2018

Moral Injury Summit Presented by paws4vets

According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Moral Injury is a construct that describes extreme and unprecedented life experience including the harmful aftermath of exposure to such events. Thus, the key precondition for moral injury is an act of transgression, which shatters moral and ethical expectations that are rooted in religious or spiritual beliefs, or culture-based, organizational, and group-based rules about fairness, the value of life, etc.

The CDC conservatively estimates that 22 Veterans commit suicide every day. That is one life lost every 65 minutes.

paws4vets hopes that our unique, K9-centric approach to combating Moral Injury will not only assist those who experience it, but also provide perspective and options for other experts in the field to better understand and manage how it effects individuals.
