Above is the selected logo from our contest last July, designed and submitted by Emma Barnes. We will be working to update media and our online presence to a variation of this logo.
501(c)(3) Status Update
As voted on by membership in August, we are in the final stages of filing to reestablish our 501(c)(3) with the IRS. What does for the association it means:
Free/Discounted services and goods as a 503(c)(3)
IRS Tax free Status
Ability to apply for grants for projects
Discounts on US Postal Services
For our membership and others it also means we can provide a receipt for dues and donations, and these can be considered charitable donations for tax purposes. More updates to come later this year on our IRS status.
Fair Success
The Benton Franklin Fair was a great success, lots of honey sticks were sold as well as hundreds of 1lbs of local honey. We had a larger booth area this year with space to do just about everything. The two observation hives were a big hit. We will start planning a little early for next years fairs and events. We hope to see you all there next year.
Special thank you to all our volunteers this year as well as David White and Dave Selph for all your support and making this a memorable time at the fair.
