Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ~ Isaiah 43:18-19
I apologize that this newsletter is a tad late! I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are ready for fall! Being born-and-raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have to say that I'm quite ready for soup and hot tea weather.

Fall Vision Retreat!

What an encouraging couple of days! This month we got to welcome back our student leaders and get our ministry team ready for a new batch of students. One of the activities we did we called a "Coma Situation." The scenario we posed to the students was, "Say that the Chi Alpha staff team was incapacitated (don't worry, they'll be back!)... How would you keep the Chi Alpha ministry going this fall term?"

Our goal with this activity was to help the students take ownership and get input from them on the kinds of events they would like to see happen. The results were even better than we'd imagined! They had great ideas! We decided to completely rework one of our events because of the creative thinking these students did, and the fall startup will be so much better for it!
I was especially encouraged to hear from the students, Joyce and Jacob, who went to SICM last June. They certainly haven't forgotten what they learned and are looking forward to implementing it on their campus this fall!

I Have a Place to Live!

After many weeks of searching, I not only have roommates, but we just signed the papers for our new house! It is such a relief to know where I'm going to be staying and I am so grateful to Jesus in the many ways he worked to get us in the right space.

After a couple frustrating attempts to find a rental, I found an add on Craigslist for a property only 2-3 miles from campus and when I emailed the landlord, he responded right away. One of our roommates, Aly, was able to go visit the property the next day and the landlord seemed to really like us. THEN we found out that the landlord knew our other roommate, Kaylee, and so he fast-tracked our application! Our landlord loves Jesus and when I met him the other day he was very kind and helpful. I'm very encouraged and looking forward to a great year in this fun house!
