Terps Leave Small Footprints at University of Maryland.

The University Sustainability Fund has approximately $400,000 available this year for projects that promote environmental sustainability and positively impact the student experience at University of Maryland.  
 
The priority deadline for applications is Monday, October 15 with a final deadline of Tuesday, January 15.  
 
Since 2011, more than $2 million has been granted to 120 sustainability projects including Terp Farm, the Sphagnum Moss Water Treatment System at Eppley Recreation Center, the Partnership for Action Learning in Sustainability (PALS), campus lighting upgrades, rain gardens, and research projects.

Actions by states, cities, businesses and universities have put the United States two-thirds of the way to its original commitment in the Paris climate agreement, according to the recently released "Fulfilling America's Pledge" report. The UMD School of Public Policy’s Center for Global Sustainability was a key contributor to the report. 
Dining Services invites you to the 4th Annual Harvest Festival at all of the three campus dining halls on Wednesday, September 26 from 5-8pm. Each dining hall will feature a local food dinner, music, activities, information tables, and more! 
UMD has been awarded $3 million by the National Science Foundation to establish a new graduate training and research program aimed at creating innovative and sustainable solutions for global food, energy and water systems.
The Office of Sustainability seeks student interns to support the LEAF Outreach Team. LEAF students engage with the campus community at events, promoting and rewarding green practices. Apply by Sunday, September 23.
Michael Carmichael became the university's first Stormwater Management and Maintenance Inspector five years ago. He is featured in our “Sustainability Seven” because of his dedication to helping make UMD a more sustainable campus through better stormwater management practices.
