The Latest CRES Updates for Fall 2018
At age 76, it might be a little late to observe "retirement." especially since I'm busier than ever. But I'm grateful for the kind recognition this summer. One project is especially dear to me: editing the (so far 210,000-word) memoir of the legendary Al Brooks.

While it's not appropriate for me in this email to endorse a political candidate, I can report I had the chance to visit with Senator Claire McCaskill about religious diversity.

Central Seminary asked me to create and teach a new course for ministry in today's multi-faith environment. I'm now teaching it for the second time.

Later this month I'll return to Mount St Scholastica to give several lectures to provide an overview of world religions.

My colleague, David Nelson, continues to draw overflow crowds to Vital Conversations, which we started in my home in 2002.

•  For a more complete review of recent activities, scroll through this page: http://www.cres.org/programs2018.htm.

But I must conclude with an apology: the second printing, with corrections, of my book, THANKS FOR NOTICING, will not be ready early this fall as I had hoped. Maybe in time for Christmas gifts!
I'm almost as excited by the second printing as the first!

As always, your contributions to our work are earnestly welcomed.

Faithfully yours,
Vern Barnet
