Tannery Talks Series Begins September 13:
A Room For Everyone
The Tannery Arts Center is hosting a series of conversations exploring the role of the arts in social activism, identity, and self-expression. The Talks were inspired by a lecture series hosted by Margaret Niven at the Tannery between 2010 to 2013. The first talk, A Room for Everyone, takes place this Thursday, September 13 and focuses on the role of the arts in addressing access to housing. The panel will be moderated by Niven, a community college educator, visual artist and Tannery resident. Panelists include Greg Handberg (Artspace Projects, Inc.), J.M. Brown (Chair, County Housing Commission, Analyst for County Supervisor Bruce McPerson, Former Chair, Arts Council of Santa Cruz County), Gary Ingram (Tannery resident, Silversmith/small metals), and Linda Cover (Tannery resident, Artist, Art Educator).
