Spring has Sprung

Welcome to the third Blackwattle Alpaca Yarn and Fibre Newsletter!
We are calling this newsletter 'Spring has Sprung" because this spring is well and truly alive on our farm. Such a beautiful time of the year in Australia!

Other stuff? So much has happened since the last newsletter. This newsletter is full with lots of exciting news and updates! Hope you enjoy reading it.

Spring Flowers

I always like to start the beginning of my newsletters with a couple of photos from our farm. There are so many colourful inspirations across our farm, not just the wattle flowers that grow in abundance. Sometimes beauty can be found in man made structures like our barb wire ball.

This time of year is stunning! I love the trees that start to come alive and the flowers!

Spring has well and truly sprung to live on the farm!

Fibre with Friends

A weekend crafting with Blackwattle
We are pleased to announce that we will be running a craft and fibre weekend in 2019. The dates are still to be confirmed but this weekend will be all about alpaca, crafting, fibre and friends!

Two days jam packed full of knitting, crochet, felting and dyeing! This will be a full alpaca experience with lots of crafting, yummy food and local wine, shared with new and old friends. More information coming soon!

Slow Fashion - Adagio

Adagio Mills, based in Orange NSW, make the majority of my very beautiful yarn bases. Recently they have launched a Kickstarter program called: Adagio made - sustainable slow fashion - knitted clothing.

Please visit their Kickstarter program and support where you can.

Sock Knitting Workshop

This weekend we held our second workshop - Learning to knit socks from the toes up. Jacqui, the teacher, was wonderful and the ladies who attended really enjoyed the afternoon.

I think I won them over with my lemon cake too! You can see what was left of it on the table!

Murrumbateman Moving Feast

The Moving Feast is on this weekend and we will have our farm open both days form 10am - 5pm. Our Farm Shop will be open over the weekend. After visiting the shop, hand feed some of our alpacas and we might even have a couple that you can take for a walk. Bring your cameras to take lots of photos!

Premium Alpaca Fleece

Recently I have added a a new section to our online shop to sell some of our premium alpaca fleeces. These fleeces are stunning, many being show fleeces, that would suit the home spinners or those wanting to felt.

All the fleeces we sell are skirted, fleece tested and with very little vegetable matter (VM).

Access the fleeces for sale from the Fibre and Roving tab.
