In the 2018 midterm elections, the Democrats could gain control of the House or Senate - or both. For the Democrats to obtain a majority, they need a 23 net seat gain in the House and two in the Senate. Many recent polls indicate that the House may be within reach for Democrats, but show the GOP has a very strong hold on the Senate.
