SOFTBALL
It wasn’t clear who would play the evening final until the first game of the day was over. There were various options but the Czechs made it simple – they beat the Netherlands 1-0 and became the only undefeated team in the tournament. The two teams to fight in the final were the Czech Republic and Italy.

The final game the Czech Republic against Italy had to be canceled due weather conditions, and as the Czech Republic beat Italy in the round-robin phase, they were declared the winner. Italy took silver.
Great Britain played a tight game against the Netherlands earlier that day. Despite better records when it comes to hits, team GB beat the Dutch by one run 3-2 and took bronze.
Another dramatic game took place around noon, Russia was in the lead in the race for the 5th spot but Greece came back in the 7th inning, scored four times and took the 5th place in the tournament (final score 5-4).

BASEBALL
This morning the baseball fans could enjoy two terrific games. The Germans could win their first game of the tournament in an exciting matchup with the Czech Republic. Italy sat themselves into the driver’s seat, celebrating a comeback win against Spain. Therefore Spain had to beat the Netherlands to be able to advance to the finals.

The game was resumed from last night, but the Spanish fought back and even took the lead in the 5th inning. Eventually the host of the Super 6 tournament 2018 could turn the table and take back the lead. Another rain shower made it impossible to keep playing. The result after eight innings was later made official, making the Netherlands and Italy the two finalist for Sunday’s baseball final.
