Upcoming Online Sangha Meetings

October 1st and October 29th, both at 8pm

All volunteers are invited to connect and learn together!

On October 1st from 8-9:30pm our topic will be:
How does the unpredictability of prison work inform your equanimity practice? Lockdowns, transfers, lost books and yoga mats, double-booked chapels, complex applications, lost communication with staff, classes suddenly growing and shrinking... there are many unpredictable and unique challenges we face working in the prison system.  How do we incorporate these obstacles, and our lack of control, into our practice?

You can RSVP for October 1st by clicking the button below or email info@buddhistpathways.org.  You will receive an email with all the information you need to easily connect using your computer or smartphone.

On October 29th from 8-9:30pm, We’re very excited to bring David Treleaven to this Zoom call. He’s the author of “Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness: Practices for Safe and Transformative Healing.” In light of the potential risks of meditation for trauma survivors, David asks the vital question to those of us who teach and utilize mindfulness — How can we help minimize the potential dangers of meditation to trauma survivors while simultaneously leveraging its potential benefits?

David’s inclusion on this call is part of BP3’s new initiative to become a trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive organization, in which all of our volunteers understand the complex intersection between trauma and mindfulness. Given the fact that the majority of inmates have suffered trauma, we are striving to learn to recognize trauma symptoms, respond skillfully to them, and take preemptive steps to ensure that people aren’t re-traumatized under our guidance.

You can RSVP for October 29th by clicking the button below or email info@buddhistpathways.org.  You will receive an email with all the information you need to easily connect using your computer or smartphone.
