LAST CHANCE:  Get Your Annual Giving Campaign Pledges In!
Did you forget? Have last minute pledges from friends and family? Drop off your donation at school by the time the office closes on Tuesday, October 9, or make your donation online by 11:59pm to count toward class prizes! Of course, pledges will be accepted anytime, but Tuesday night is the cutoff for counting towards prizes. Winners will be announced on October 17 in the Paw Print Press, morning announcements, and emails to classrooms.

WHERE ARE WE?
Four classes have reached 50% participation, 8 other classes have above 25% participation, and the rest have above 10% participation. This is good, but last year, we ended with an average of 50% participation for the whole school, so we have a long way to go in this last week!

Whether it's $500 or $5, please donate to get your class participation numbers up and LET'S GET THIS SCHOOL MOVING! Any amount is appreciated!

Donate in a lump sum or split it up monthly. Your total pledge counts toward class prizes! bit.ly/lsagcdon

Donations are tax-deductible and receipts have been issued as we go, so contact pta@LakeshoreElementary.org if you have not received your receipt.

CURRENT CLASS STANDINGS
Participation: Ms. Angela and Ms. Fernandez (50%), Ms. Hopper (52%), Ms. Jordan (59%)

Donations: Ms. Fernandez (K), Ms. Hopper (1), Mr. Joseph (2), Ms. Amanda (3), Mr. Gonzalez (4-5), Ms. Klein (SDC)

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR EVERYTHING
If you have an employer who matches donations, please fill out their matching donation form. It's free money for our school; don't let it slip away! We are counting employer matching donations towards class totals if you tell us that they are coming on your paper form or at pta@LakeshoreElementary.org. Please send matching donation questions there as well.

To get friends, family, and coworkers to give, share the the online donation link, this Friends and Family form, or the Annual Giving Campaign Facebook post. We have FIFTEEN students with three or more donors each. They did it, and so can you!

Spirit Friday #4 of 4:
School Colors Day

It’s been great to see so many people supporting the effort on our Spirit Fridays!

This Friday, 10/5 is School Colors Day, our last Spirit Friday during the Annual Giving Campaign. Show your pride by wearing Lakeshore gear or get creative with red and black. Have fun and show your school spirit!
Thank You Corner:
Lakeshore Co-op K Night

Special thanks to Dara Dubosky for organizing and hosting the Co-op K Night which brings parents from Preschool Co-ops all over San Francisco to learn about schools for their soon-to-be kindergartners. It was also a great way to represent and show off Lakeshore to other co-op parents while earning money for the PTA!

Also, thanks to everyone who helped prep, bake, cook, set up, talk with prospective parents, sell food, and clean up.
Noriega Produce Gives Back
Do you shop at Noriega Produce, Gus's Community Market, or Haight Street Market? Then sign up for their scrip program here. After you sign up, just provide your phone number at checkout at any of those three stores, and Lakeshore gets 6% back!

Thank you to Laura Batie for signing Lakeshore up and the Vardakastanis family, who runs the Gus's Community Market stores and is a Lakeshore family!
Walk & Roll to School Day Is Only a Week Away!

Consider walking or biking to school on Wednesday, October 10.

Join a group of walkers who will meet at Lakeshore Plaza (at Noah's Bagels) at 9:00am, or a "Bike Train" meeting at Moraga St. and Great Highway at 8:30am. It's good exercise, and it helps kids connect with our neighborhoods and communities. It's also a great way to sneak in some family time on the way to school.

If you want to help out with greeting walkers and bikers in front of Lakeshore, or any other details of this special day, contact Chris McCarthy (exoplanet@gmail.com). Young walkers and rollers will receive stickers and prizes upon arrival at Lakeshore!

Check out sfsaferoutes.org for more information about this city-wide event. Please sign up at bit.ly/ls18walkroll if you can help out.
PTA Fest: October 11 (6-8pm)
Come learn more about Lakeshore's three main enrichment programs that your PTA fundraising dollars pay for. Enjoy a Studio Art project with Sharon Collins, get moving in Motor Perception with Marlene Bazadrich, and check out the Garden and Bungalow that Martha Luna and Jean Butler use to teach our kids about science and nature.

It'll be a lovely evening showcase in the garden with live music and light hors d'oeuvres. Come and meet our extremely dedicated team of Program Consultants who help to make Lakeshore the well-rounded school that we are. Everyone is welcome! Contact Harper Honan at harper.honan@gmail.com if you can assist!
Help with Lakeshore Tours
Do you love Lakeshore and want to show others how special we are? The Tours team is looking for enthusiastic families to assist with school tours starting October 10. No special skills required. Enthusiasm is more important than the time spent at Lakeshore. Kinder families are especially useful in helping incoming families with the decision process. If you can assist, please email tours@lakeshoreelementary.org.
Girls Leadership Program at Commodore Sloat

ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) General Meeting: October 5 (6-7pm)

All Lakeshore families are invited to attend. Translation will be provided in English, Chinese, and Spanish.
Do You Love Halloween? Spooky Scary Without Volunteers!

Halloween is right around the corner and it's a very special event at Lakeshore. Kids are welcome to come in their costumes. We start off the festivities with our parade, serenaded by the Lowell Orchestra playing Halloween favorites. Each class then goes through the transformed Community Room to have thrills, chills, and fun.

It takes a village to transform an all-purpose room and run the activities. To help, please sign up online at bit.ly/ls18hlw or email halloween@LakeshoreElementary.org.
Want to include something in the next edition? Please complete the PPP Submission Form here bit.ly/pppsubmit no later than Friday at noon with final content. Thank you!
