Upcoming Fall Exhibitions

Greetings,

This past week, we lost one of the greatest artists, Geta Brătescu. She was one of my inspirations for her playfulness with conceptual twist. She died at the age of 92, and she was active as an artist until her death. She once said in an interview, “At my age, I can work as a young person.” “Projects gets created by working. A project gets created at the work desk, not in the head. Art is form.” “What a doctor does in medicine, I did in art.” She will be greatly missed.

This fall, I'll be showing my drawings in two exhibitions in the Boston areas. Both exhibits feature my map-related drawings.

Elemental

The two-person show, Elemental, features the work of Lynda Schlosberg and Naoe Suzuki, connecting two artists who share a desire to peel back the layers of nature and human perception to reveal fundamental truths at the heart of reality. I’ll be showing two pieces from Intueri series, and six pieces from No matter series.  Read more.

My drawing from Water, is Taught by Thirst series will be shown in a group show, Crossing Boundaries: Art // Maps in the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library. Contemporary artworks will be paired with maps from the Levanthal Map Center’s collections in this exhibition. My drawing will be paired with an 1890's map of the Charles River.
