WHERE I WAS

Writing writing writing!
Getting reading for a book launch this Friday! (See my "MISC. section below for more on that.)

Coffee with Friends
...on Let Me Start By Saying

WHAT I LOVED THINGS FACEBOOK MAYBE DIDN'T SHOW YOU
  • I came across an old piece I wrote for which I had to interview kids in grades 1-5 about the advice they'd give to other kids about those grades. The adorableness is like taking a happiness vitamin.
  • I now have a mailing list JUST for news about my new book releases in all genres. I know we don't all have time to read lengthy newsletters, so if you want a simple, quick alert when I have a new book coming out (entirely written by me, or that include my work), sign up here

Come follow/friend my personal Facebook account HERE. It'll help you see what I post if we connect that way, rather than only following my Let Me Start By Saying Page

LET'S TALK ABOUT BOOKS!

What I'm reading:
  • Listened to LUCKY BROKEN GIRL by Ruth Behar (middle grade fiction). I did not expect it to be so moving! Wonderful. Read my full review here.
  • Read SEAFIRE by Natalie C. Parker (YA fantasy, pirates), and ooooh it was really good. Read full review here.
  • Read MIRAGE by Somalia Daud (YA fantasy). It was quieter than expected, but in all the right aways. Read full review here.
  • Reread DUMPLIN' by Julie Murphy (YA contemporary fiction) because that book just makes me HAPPY.
I try to put what I'm reading/have read on Goodreads, so I don't lose track. Check in over there when you can!

If you like to talk about books--particularly YA and fiction--I have a Facebook group you can join. I share books I read/love/want to talk about there, and encourage you to lurk or share, too! Join here.

MISC.
  • This Friday is BOOK LAUNCH DAY for a book I'm in and pretty damn excited about. It's written by women ages 12-63, empowering stories about being female in this world. I'm not sharing this info anywhere but here, but I'll be doing some giveaways for it that include Amazon gift cards and girl-power goodies. So keep your eyes peeled for both new blog posts AND on Instagram
  • Okay so I'm like the last person to finally start doing Instagram Stories, but it has been fun. So come on by! I give closer looks at what I'm up to, books I'm buying/taking out of the library, and little things that make me happy. :)  If you don't know what they are, they're up to 15-second videos. You can find them by clicking the labeled icons in my bio, or clicking my face, or you'll see Instagram put them up at the top of your screen as circle icons, and sometimes as a row of rectangle previews while you're scrolling through feed. They can be fun! I'm enjoying watching other peoples', too.
  • If you are in the NJ area and love books, the Morristown Festival of Books is coming up in 3 weeks. It's free and FULL of incredible authors. I never miss it. Here's the line-up of who will be there.
