In this blog article, read about the possible effect rising temperatures can have on migration and employment in rural Mexico. The extreme heat is causing local workers to migrate to the United States or to urban areas Mexico in search of favorable working conditions. "Extreme temperatures will affect local earning opportunities negatively. Poor wage-laborer households will be most vulnerable to these shocks, as their local employment opportunities are most sensitive to extreme heat."
GDN BOARD MEMBER JOINS ZIMBABWEAN CABINET
GDN Board Member Mthuli Ncube was appointed Minister of Finance and Economic Development of Zimbabwe on 10 September 2018. He will be joining the Cabinet of the newly elected government to lead its economic reforms. Given his new responsibilities, he will be stepping down from his role at GDN.
