The Badger and Candy Mountain fall trail work season has begun! There will be two main tasks: installing rocks along the edge of the Sagebrush Trail which was built in the spring of 2018 and general trail maintenance -- filling “potholes” and raking gravel back onto the trails. We’ll be working most Friday-Saturday-Sundays, from 8:30AM to 12:30PM, until the ground freezes for the season.
All tools will be provided, helpers just need to bring work gloves, water, snacks, and dress for the weather. Please sign-up in advance so we can plan the work, have enough tools available, and our triailmaster knows how many cookies to bake! You can do that by contacting Jim at trailmaster@friendsofbadger.org. If you would like to be added to the trail work email list, let him know, he sends out an email about once a week when work is planned.
We were going to build a new trail from the Sagebrush towards Little Badger, but have run into challenges with soil composition that will take time to resolve.
Are You a Business Or Organization? You have the opportunity to sign up for the new “Adopt-A-Trail” program where you'll get to choose a quarter mile of trail you can take care of with our guidance. Visit our website for more details.
