Be A Champion For Your Dog
This week at the Aberdeen Farmer's Market, we encourage you to come out, and bring your pup with you! We're holding a celebration for our four-legged friends from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in downtown Festival Park. Not only will vendors have specials catered to your pup, but the first 50 dogs will receive a Baltimore Dog Bakery bone, and their owners will receive an emergency notice that shows how many pets are in the home in case disaster strikes.
You've seen them on social media, and on WBAL News. Now Blue Line K-9 will be on site this Thursday with their obstacle course items! Have questions regarding training? Owner Mike Soler will be at the Market speaking with residents regarding their concerns. In the words of Blue Line K-9 "Be A Champion For Your Dog". This means going the extra mile with your pup, purchasing them that dog treat they love, interact with them on the obstacles, and enjoying your time together.
Can't make it to this week's Market but are still interested in doing something special with your pup? Mark your calendar for December 15th where Blue Line K-9 will hold a 3K run for dogs and their owners. This is the first Pack Walk Event ever held in Aberdeen! A Pack Walk is a time for dogs and their owners to bond in a group setting. So, grab your leash, dog bowl, and water, and start training now for this amazing event! Want more information?

*Please note, all dogs attending the Farmer's Market will need to be on a leash. If your dog uses the restroom while there, please be sure to pick up after your pet.

Badges & Ladders
A shout out to all those who joined in on Saturday night at the Badges & Ladders softball slugfest at Leidos Field, with proceeds going to the Maryland Special Olympics. It was a great event that truly demonstrated that here in Aberdeen and Harford County, we care.
The Wait Is Over!
For the past few years, Aberdeen residents have listened to what was thought to be rumor regarding a Starbucks in town. Last year, we announced the anticipated Starbucks was in fact opening and are excited to announce that Starbucks has officially broken ground!
That's right! Soon, residents and APG commuters will be able to grab their Teavana Shaken Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade, Iced Hazelnut Macchiato, or Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte amongst other delicious drinks. If it sounds like we're speaking a language you're not familiar with, we encourage you to keep watching for updates in our future e-newsletters. All further progress on the new Route 22 establishment will be conveyed to our residents.
Active Shooter Training
If you watch the news, you'll unfortunately hear of incidents involving guns and violence in schools and the workplace more now a days than ever. For example, the most recent active shooter incident in Perryman. We hear about these events, and can only imagine what we would do in those situations. Before you think you're prepared, sit back and think. What would you truly do if faced to face with an active shooter. Most people either run, panic, or freeze. Even if you could get to a phone, officers would still need time to respond. 8 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes.... that's a lot of time when you're facing an individual with a deadly weapon.
Your Aberdeen Police Department wants you to be prepared. Officers are available to train you, your employees, and your family on what to do if you are in an active shooter situation. If you are interested in learning potentially life saving techniques, please contact the Aberdeen Police Department at (410) 272-2121.
Church Green Playground
If you haven't done so yet, we encourage you to stop by and visit the newest playground in Aberdeen. The new Church Green Park is located off East Bel Air Avenue and New County Road, near the Boys and Girls Club of Harford County and Halls Cross Roads Elementary School.
The park features two distinct fitness and play areas: Adults and teens can exercise on the ten station fitness center and the children can enjoy the up and down motion of the dragonfly, the slide, shoot balls through the triple hoop ball play, crawl through the log, and climb over the hypar net. The City’s Department of Public Works added new sidewalks and crosswalks for the safety of all residents in the community. Enjoy!
