Filming for our celebration of CENMAC at 50 and the growth of assistive technology

Welcome back!

We hope your academic year has started smoothly, after a very enjoyable and relaxing summer! It's been a busy start to the year for us as we are recruiting new staff. We look forward to introducing some great new additions to our team in the next newsletter.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we work through ensuring students have their equipment in their new schools and that staff /families are confident in its use. Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you are missing something or would like some help or support.

Final draft of our '50 years of CENMAC, providing assistive technology in education' film is being edited and the premier showing is aimed for the beginning of December, expect an invitation soon.

Communication Matters highlights

CENMAC was pleased to be able to attend Communication Matter Conference in Leeds this year. It was three days of brilliant workshops and information to share and pass on.

Communication Access UK (CAUK) had a soft launch of the new national Communication Access symbol for the UK. Read more on this link about the training workshops they are developing for early adopters and the AAC  'mystery customers' who will provide baseline information about their experiences out in the community, in shops and leisure facilities.

So many resources to share but one particular highlight is from CALL Scotland. Check out the new online AAC training courses.
