Don’t miss this great opportunity for educators and others who want to enliven their courses when teaching themes of Labor, Immigration and Civil Rights. On October 2-3, 2018 there will be a 2-day workshop at the Detroit Institute of Arts presenting a new curriculum from the FilmFoundation that uses films to explore those themes more deeply. Workshop is free and SCECH credits are available.
There will also be free evening screenings of selected films at the DIA. The films are historically and artistically significant and reflect important moments in American history and culture: Tuesday 7pm - At the River I StandandSalt of the Earth; Wednesday 7pm - Where Are My Children? and Times of Harvey Milk. Free and open to the general public.
Register for the workshop by emailing Julia Wayne at jwayne@film-foundation.org or call (323) 436-5095. Co-presented by the Film Foundation, AFSCME, Digital Arts Film & Television and Detroit Film Theatre.
