Happy Fall Y'all

Chugging along with our new Full Diet CSA, we somehow made it to the other side of this year's farm summer + new baby double whammy.

Alma Rosemary

Born two weeks early on May 4th, this little one came bounding into our lives and turned it all upside down. As only a new baby can do. She was born here at the farm as the summer warmth set in, sandwiched in between the births of our calves and thankfully not on a CSA delivery day! She's been doing all the things a baby should do...lots of eating, sleeping and pooping. Kind of like the rest of the animals on the farm! And now that she smiles and laughs at us, we've decided we'll keep her around permanently ;-)

While Jenny's workload has shifted quite dramatically (and consequently Justin's too), we're continuing to find ways to incorporate her into the bustling life outside. She now squirms in delight when she sees us put the carrier on, as if she knows she's going to get to go outside. She's moved (and chased) cows, fed chickens, collected eggs, harvested veggies and filled many a water trough. It's incredible to get to watch her interact with all the animals here...she is often captivated by them, watching their every move.

Eat Like a Farmer: Our Full Diet CSA

In partnership with Valley Spirit Farm, we now offer a year-round free-choice CSA. Your household pays one flat rate and you order exactly what your family will eat for the week, choosing from fresh vegetables, fruit, grass-fed beef, pastured pork & chicken, eggs, milk, yogurt, bone broth, honey, sourdough bread, and more! All grown with intention and without chemical sprays.

Our CSA gives you access to the bounty of the healthiest food while providing ongoing support for your local farmers. We launched this last December and have loved feeding and getting to know our members!

We have a few spots open if you would like to join us, all of the details are here.

Our Little Farm is Growing

We had three cow births on the farm this spring! Hershey, Coco and Clementine all successfully (without assistance) gave birth to healthy calves. After Baker delivered a boy last year, and two boys arrived in March, we at long last got a girl! Clover is pictured here with her mom Clementine.

And we had two mama hens hatch some surprise chicks for us! It was such a delight this summer watching her teach them how to forage during the day and work to fit every single one under her at night. We also added a handful of ducks to our motley crew, as they are just such a fun personality to have around! We certainly love our chicken eggs, but those rich extra-large eggs from our ducks have our utmost devotion :)
Follow us on Instagram for more farm photos!
We have had so many wonderful visitors to the farm this spring and summer. If you were one of them, thank you so much for the gift of you presence. And please come back soon! Family, friends and customers alike, we always welcome it, whether it's just an afternoon catch up or a full weekend stay.

It's a joy to share this farm, please know you're welcome here. (Plus, since we milk cows every day, we're kinda stuck here, so in actuality need you to come! ;-) We will be having an open farm day soon and will post an invitation for that, stay tuned!

Thanks for following along our journey,
-Jenny, Justin and Alma
