Medical and dietetics students meet their mentors.
August 30th was orientation day for a pilot health mentors program at Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile. There are three mentor groups, each with two medical students and two dietetics students.
“I think this program is a great opportunity to complement my medical training and be able to effectively help patients in clinical practice. It will contribute to my medical knowledge in psychosocial areas of the disease to focus not only on the biology of the pathology but also on a complete way to help the patient," said one medical student.
The mentors range in age from 40 to 75 with different health problems such as hypertension, autoimmune disorder, and celiac disease. Read more...
