DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

New tech, new responsibilities

Two decades into digital transformation, we are beginning to see the far-reaching implications of our reliance on specific technologies, and we understand we need to be more thoughtful. We’re also developing resources and frameworks for better decision-making — like Omidyar Network’s Ethical OS — to consider the full range of possible risks and benefits.

During a talk last week at Massachusetts General Hospital, Luminary Labs CEO Sara Holoubek reminded the audience that the time to consider unintended consequences is now: “if you’re thinking that you’re going to think about ethics later, it’s too late.”

MobiHealthNews covered Sara’s remarks, which offered an overview of what healthcare innovators need to know about tech ethics. The tables will be turned next month at All Tech is Human’s Summit on Ethical Tech, when Sara speaks to a diverse, cross-sector audience about ethics lessons the tech sector can learn from healthcare.

If you’re thinking about digital transformation and your own industry’s impact on humanity, we’d love to connect with you this fall. Reply to this email or say hello to the Luminary Labs team when we’re in a city near you:
