Commitment to Development Index
The Commitment to Development (CDI) Index ranks 27 of the world's richest countries on policies that affect more than five billion people living in poorer nations. Because development is more than foreign aid, the Index covers seven distinct policy areas: aid, finance, technology, environment, trade, security, migration. The CDI index is published each year by the Washington based Center for Global Development. In the last index (2017), Denmark takes first place. Sweden is second and Finland first. France and Germany complete the top five.

Despite attempts to combat corruption around the world, the latest 2017 Corruption Perceptions Index shows that for the majority of countries, their efforts occur far too slowly. Sadly, in the last six years, many countries have made little to no progress. The index, which ranks 180 countries and territories by their perceived levels of public sector corruption according to experts and businesspeople, uses a scale of zero to 100, where zero is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean. This year, the index found that more than two-thirds of countries score below 50, with an average score of 43.

Corruption Watch fights corruption in South Africa. It relies on the public to report corruption to them. Corruption Watch then uses the reports as an important source of information to fight corruption and hold leaders accountable for their actions.
Young Lethabo in this fundraising video is one of thousands of children who go hungry at school. Their only meal of the day has been taken from them by a corrupt principal who steals the food provided.
