Hi <<First Name>>
Since the last time we spoke (about a month ago!), a lot has happened in terms of travel. As I emptied one suitcase to fill the next, I haven't found any time to write a newsletter and update you at all -eep!
After visiting the "Social Travel Summit" conference in the city of Belfast in Northern Ireland (where for me, a visit to the Titanic museum AND sitting on 'The Iron Throne' from TV-series Game of Thrones was an absolute highlight), I went on a food & drinks trip to the South of England to discover the cities of Exeter and Exmouth (the visit to a cheese farm and having a cider-tasting session were my personal favourites), followed by a trip to Bristol in Southwest England where the lovely people of Thatchers Cider showed me around their Cider farm (can you tell I like cider yet?).
Then, as if it wasn't enough yet, I also stopped by the city of Venlo in The Netherlands to celebrate Nick's brother's 40th birthday AND I spend a few days in the Lombardia region of Northwest Italy to see what the area around Lake Maggiore and Varese had to offer.
But the crazy ride isn't over yet, as I'm currently packing my bags AGAIN, to leave for Sri Lanka on Tuesday. Here, I'm on a press trip to the South of the island where I get to test various hotels belonging to the Cinnamon Hotel group (I'm doing a lot of hotel reviews lately, videos of those will be online soon -when I have time to edit them!) and I will be attending the "TBC Asia" Blogger Conference there as well.
Right after Sri Lanka, there is a week of networking during the "World Travel Market" travel trade show in London, which is always very intense, but so amazing because I get to plan projects for next year and meet up with the entire travel blogger family (it really feels like one big family sometimes) again!
Now you might understand why finding time to write new articles, update all social media channels, answer hundreds of emails, have calls with clients and write newsletters is a bit of a challenge this month-and-a-half!
I guess it's all part of the job of a full-time travel blogger, but I'm planning to take things a lot more slowly in November and December, so I can spend more time at home (Oh, hi Nick!) and work on producing more articles for both my websites and updating a lot of old content on the website as well. The to-do list of a blogger never ends!
For now, I wish you a lovely rest of your weekend, I'm going to finish packing now, haha. Please click on the images below to see my favourite Instagram photos from these trips and enjoy reading all the articles mentioned as well! Let me know what you've been up to in October, would love to hear it!
Love,
Nienke
